Novice Forklift Training in Derby
For staff who have never driven a forklift. Three to five days on-site, ending with the accredited test and certificate.
Novice training is the full basic operator course for people with no previous forklift experience. It follows the accredited-body syllabus (RTITB, AITT or ITSSAR) and covers everything from the legal background to a practical test, so a successful candidate leaves with an HSE-recognised certificate of basic training.
The course is run at your premises on your truck. A typical three-candidate counterbalance course runs over three days; reach trucks, VNA and telehandlers usually take longer. The instructor covers theory in a quiet room or canteen using a laptop or tablet, then moves onto the truck in a coned-off area before working in your real aisles and loading bays.
On the final day each candidate takes a theory test, a pre-use inspection test and a practical test. Certificates are issued by Forklift Agency and posted within 14 days where a credit account is in place.
